Free Bible Study Guides for Small Groups
Free, In-Depth Bible Studies Exploring Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
Are you looking for free Bible study guides for your small group, church, Sunday school class, or personal Bible study?
Gospels Bible Study provides free, in-depth Bible study materials designed to help individuals and groups explore the life, teachings, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Our Bible studies go beyond simply reading Scripture. We examine specific events recorded in the Gospels, compare the accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and explore the details, teachings, and lessons found within each passage.
Whether you are a small-group leader, church teacher, Bible study participant, or someone who wants to deepen your understanding of God's Word, our resources are designed to help you study Scripture more thoroughly and encourage meaningful group discussions.
All of our Bible study materials are available free of charge.
What Makes Gospels Bible Study Different?
Our website was developed from more than 15 years of collective experience learning, participating in, and teaching Bible studies in small-group settings.
During those years, we recognized an opportunity to take traditional Gospel comparisons one step further. Rather than simply listing differences between the four Gospel accounts, we wanted to create complete Bible studies examining the specific events witnessed and recorded by the Gospel writers.
Our studies bring the accounts together to help readers understand what each Gospel contributes to the overall picture of Jesus' life and ministry.
We believe studying the four Gospels together provides a valuable opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of Scripture.
What Is Included in Each Bible Study?
Our free Bible study guides are designed to provide both the group leader and participants with the materials needed for a meaningful study session.
Depending on the lesson, each study includes:
1. Gospel Comparisons
Side-by-side comparisons of the corresponding passages in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These comparisons help identify similarities, differences, and additional details recorded by each Gospel writer.
2. In-Depth Lesson Summaries
Detailed summaries that provide additional background, context, and information to help the leader prepare and guide the discussion.
3. Student Discussion Guides
Printable participant materials containing interactive questions and opportunities to examine Scripture, consider its meaning, and participate in group discussions.
4. Leader's Guides
Detailed leader resources containing discussion answers, explanations, additional information, and comparison keys to help facilitate the study.
5. Bible Study Quizzes
Quizzes containing approximately 10–15 questions, depending on the lesson, to reinforce the important points and help participants retain what they have learned.
